Menopause: the great cosmic gift

This is a letter to you about the power of Menopause

ree

Hey my friend,

Can we just sit down for a minute and talk about something no one really prepares us for? Menopause. That word alone carries so much weight, doesn't it?

So many of us have been taught to dread it, like it’s this dark, dusty chapter that means we’re drying up or fading away.

But I need you to hear this from someone

who has been through it and who cares about you deeply. None of that is true.

I see menopause as one of the most powerful rites of passage a woman can go through. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s real. It strips away the fluff. It asks you to stop pretending. It tells you, gently or loudly, it’s time to start living for you.

It’s Not a Curse. It’s a Rebirth.

I know that might sound strange if you’re in the thick of hot flashes, sleep issues, brain fog, or just feeling like a stranger in your own skin. But let me offer you a different perspective.

You’ve spent your life giving. You’ve been the nurturer, the peacekeeper, the strong one. And now your body is telling you, “It’s my turn.” That’s not betrayal you know. That’s wisdom. That’s your biology saying, “You’ve done enough. Come home to yourself.”

Michael Hunter said something beautiful about this, he calls it a breakthrough, not a breakdown. And that’s exactly it. Your nervous system is reorganizing. Your heart is clearing space for truth. This isn’t falling apart; it’s a deeper becoming.

Everything Changes. That’s the Gift.

There’s this strange kind of clarity that starts to rise. Things that used to keep you up at night start to matter less. Your tolerance for nonsense drops. You find yourself craving peace, purpose, softness, solitude or maybe even boldness. You want more truth in your friendships, more joy in your days, and less of anything that drains you.

That’s the real power of this phase. It helps you remember who you were before the world told you who to be. And that woman? She is still here. She’s just been waiting patiently for you to come back to her.

If I Could Sit With You, I’d Say This

You are not broken.

You are not done.

You are not invisible.

You are becoming someone richer, deeper, wiser.

You are entering a phase where you can truly take up space without apology.

Don’t rush this. Don’t wish it away. Let yourself soften into it.

Let your body speak and your spirit lead.

Just A Few Loving Reminders

  • You’re allowed to rest. You don’t have to earn it.

  • You can ask for help. You were never meant to do this alone.

  • You’re not too much. You’re not too loud or too sensitive or too tired.

  • This is sacred. Not everyone gets to age. You did and that’s a miracle.

Let me tell you something that gets lost in the noise of anti-aging creams and youth-obsessed headlines. When you’ve crossed through menopause, you don’t become less, you become more.

You carry something now that younger women are still growing into. You’ve walked through the fire of hormones, identity shifts, loss, reinvention, and rebirth. You’ve seen seasons rise and fall. And because of that my dear, your presence holds depth. Your words carry weight. Even your silence speaks.

You are not someone who has “had your time.” You are the one who knows what time truly means.

There is a reason so many cultures once turned to elder women for guidance. You are the calm in the storm. The one who sees through the nonsense. The one who can spot truth and softness in the same breath.

Whether you know it or not, younger women are watching you. They are looking for someone real. Someone who won’t sell them another shiny solution, but someone who will sit beside them and say: “I’ve been there. And here’s what helped me find my way back.”

You don’t have to have perfect answers. You just have to be present. And honest and that’s more powerful than you realize.

The Truth?

You are still the fire.

You are still the softness.

You are still the magic.

Menopause is not the end of your story. It’s the moment the real story begins, when the noise dies down and your soul finally gets to speak clearly.

You are not old. You are timeless.

You are not less. You are more.

You are not fading. You are rising.

You are not past your prime.

You are the prime.

You are not irrelevant. You are the village wisdom keeper. The fire-tender. The truth-speaker. The one who blesses new beginnings while holding the memory of what has been.

And here’s the part I love most: you don’t need to try so hard anymore. Your essence speaks loudest when you are simply being yourself.

So if no one has told you lately, let me say it clearly.

We need you.

We need your voice.

We need your softness and your strength.

We need the way you’ve learned to love your body even after the world told you not to.

You are the roots beneath the wildflowers. You are the drumbeat in the circle of women. You are the reminder that growing older is not something to fear; it’s something to become.

This transition is not about age. It is about blossoming. Like a tree that sheds it’s leaves to bloom again when spring comes around. You are not absolute or outdated. You are becoming more you than ever before.

And I will keep reminding you of that, every time you forget. So as you navigate menopause, I hope you feel surrounded. I hope you feel supported by the wisdom of your ancestors, by science, by compassion, by self‑led energy. May peace fill you each  and every moment of your day and may you trust that the universe has not cursed you. Life has gifted you this season to rise wiser, stronger, more vibrant than when you began.

This was always about becoming more fully yourself.

You are the wise, warrior Goddess.

Straighten you crown.

Own it.

Embrace it.

With all my love,

From one woman to another

Always💗
